Manchester City is not wasting any time in engaging their efforts to collect a better team for next season.

The Blues of Manchester had a rather soft season compared to their lofty standards and the domestic campaign ended with further problems as they lost the FA Cup semi-final, were coerced to sell Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich and lost Sergio Aguero to an injury ahead of a crucial Champions League tie against Real Madrid.

Their only ray of hope came from winning their case against UEFA regarding their breach of FFP ruled by CAS.  It allowed City back into the Champions League bracket and they are now capitalizing on it by bringing in some new faces to the squad.

They have reportedly secured the signing of young Ferran Torres from Valencia and now have according to BBC, succeeded in their £40 million bid for Nathan Ake.

The former Chelsea man is a versatile defender who can play at center-back and left-back and given his comfort on the ball, he should fit into Pep’s team seamlessly. He brings in vital Premier League experience as well with him.

However, the one thing City might look back and think upon is whether he was worth the price tag given his current team Bournemouth have just been relegated and probably would have settled for a much lesser fee!

Still, a 25-year-old defender with experience and comfort on the ball is a brilliant early coup from Pep and co.
