The Blues are after a striker this summer

According to reports, new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to sign a top centre forward in the summer to support Diego Costa.

Original rumours suggested they wanted in-form Napoli man Gonzalo Higuain or Juventus star Alvaro Morata, but certain factors have complicated those deals.

The 28-year old Higuain is currently in talks with the Naples side about signing a new contract, but he also has a huge ÂŁ72 million buy-out clause in his current deal.

On the other hand, it is believed that Morata does want a move to the Premier League this summer, however, Arsenal are his preferred suitors.

And that’s not all, the Spaniard’s former club Real Madrid are allegedly prepared to activate his buy-out clause of ÂŁ25 million, before selling him on to an English club for profit.

An easier target

Such complications have pointed Conte in the direction of Everton man Romelu Lukaku, who is apparently allowed to leave Goodison Park BEFORE Euro 2016 for ÂŁ65 million.

The fact that the Belgium international has already played for Chelsea could make negotiations run smoother and it would give the Blues the striker they need to play with Costa.

They are desperate to sign up another attacker, as Loic Remy, Alexandre Pato and Radamel Falcao are all expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
