Life-long Blues fan Todd Kane is determined to make the first-team

Chelsea right-back Todd Kane wants to secure his long-term future with the Blues, while he awaits his senior debut.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan in Holland with Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegenin, and has made 28 appearances this season.

But the right-back is ultimately hoping for a future at Stamford Bridge, having spent time on loan at five different clubs, including Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest.

Now Kane, who group up near not too far from Stamford Bridge, is trying to do all he can to move a step closer to the first team, having signed a new three-year deal back in August last year.

“I don’t just want to play one or two games for Chelsea,” said Kane.

“If they offered me a 10-year contract, I’d take it now. I support Chelsea, I’ve been there a long time, my whole family is from the area – it’s the ultimate goal.”

Life-long Blues fan

Kane joined the club aged seven and has since gone on to represent the England Under-19s. But the 22-year-old has won some silverware with Chelsea: winning the Chelsea Under-18s FA Youth Cup in 2012 and has captained the Under-21 side.

The life-long Chelsea fan and academy graduate has also identified a former Manchester United legend who the defender hopes his own career can pan out like.

“What you saw with Ryan Giggs at Manchester United, that’s what I want to be at Chelsea.” Kane added.

“A lot of clubs are interested. Clubs came in for me in January, but I had a talk with Chelsea. Everything has gone well here [at NEC] and I don’t want to change that.”
