Blues ready to move winger away to Italy on permanent deal

Chelsea are ready to open talks with Juventus over the possible permanent transfer of Juan Cuadrado away from Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old winger has been on load in Italy since failing to secure a first team place at Chelsea after his ÂŁ26million move from Fiorentina in January last year.

In his six months at the club, he made just 4 starts.

However, his Chelsea nightmare was ended in August as he moved to Turin, and it was thought that he would be securing a permanent deal to Juve during this current window, but those talks have now taken a setback, with Juve looking for a reduced price of the previously agreed ÂŁ15.8million.

Cuadrado himself admits the decision to return to Italy was the right move.

“The idea of coming back to Italy attracted me a lot. I know the football here, I know the language and the people, and the truth is it feels like my second home,” he told UEFA.com.

“So when I had to decide about whether to take this chance or not, I talked to my agent every day about my return and now I am very happy to be here at Juventus.”
