According to reports, Crystal Palace have emerged as the front-runners to complete the summer transfer of Trevoh Chalobah, a defender for Chelsea who is also interested in West Ham United. Chalobah, 25, was left out of Enzo Maresca’s preseason roster; hence, the Blues have made him available for transfer during this window.
Although Chalobah has recently been associated with West Ham, there are now rumours indicating that Chalobah joining Palace would be the deal to watch. While Chalobah isn’t cheap, he seems like a solid investment for a team like Palace, and many CFC supporters will be questioning if moving him is the correct move given the quality of players like Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile.
Crystal Palace to hand exiled Chelsea star escape chance
Guehi and the Magpies have reached a personal terms agreement, as we exclusively disclosed on Monday, and Eddie Howe’s team is now nearing an agreement on a transfer fee with Palace. Oliver Glasner’s team would suffer greatly from his departure, and Palace has already started compiling a short list of possible successors.
Chalobah is mentioned as a possible choice by Matt Law of The Telegraph. The 25-year-old, who has been practicing with the Under-21 team, was not included in Chelsea’s preseason tour of the USA. The defender’s sale has been approved by Enzo Maresca, and several Premier League teams have expressed interest. Chalobah still has four years left on his contract, which was only given to him two years ago after he turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last summer.
