No contact between Jose Mourinho and Everton, Manchester United back on for Special One?

Jose Mourinho’s possible arrival at Manchester United could still happen if the club decide to get rid of Louis van Gaal.

Reports claimed Everton wanted Mourinho to replace the axed Roberto Martinez.

However, according to Sky Sports, no contact has yet been made between Everton chiefs and Mourinho’s representatives.

Jose, the self-appointed Special One, still seemingly has his heart set on being manager at Old Trafford, despite reportedly not being the preferred choice of some United hierarchy.

LVG, however, despite failing to get the Red Devils back into the Champions League next season, still believes he is the right man for the job.

United can not finish higher than fifth in the table, still needing at least a point in their rearranged final fixture at home to Bournemouth just to finish above Southampton.

Van Gaal recently spoke of his immediate future: “You have to believe me that when I am here I am still the man in charge.

“Otherwise I go. Believe me. Every club I have done that. You can ask Bayern Munich or Barcelona, also the Dutch Federation.

“So I have the impression that I am still here otherwise I can’t say all the things that I have said.

“But in the football world, you never know, and I have seen that before.”
