According to reports from Gazzetta Dello Sport, Barcelona have shown an interest in signing Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Uruguayan joined the Bianconeri in 2017 and has made 66 appearances for the club till date. The Catalan giants have been interested in him since 2018 as they seek a replacement for the ageing Ivan Rakitic.
The reports suggest that Barcelona are in advanced talks with the player and the club in a deal worth €60m. Additionally, Boca Juniors will also be claiming 50% of the transfer fee given the sell-on clause in his current contract.
Bentancur is willing to leave after Juventus signed Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot and Matthijs de Ligt in added competition to Sami Khedira.
Barcelona is set to face Real Betis on Monday as they look to bounce back from their defeat. Meanwhile, Juventus will start their Serie A campaign against Parma today.
