CONFIRMED: Leicester City sign Islam Slimani

Leicester City have completed the signing of Sporting Lisbon forward Islam Slimani for £29m.

Slimani certainly has an eye for goal, managing 31 goals in all competitions last season, along with six assists for the Portuguese club.

The Premier League champions have broken their transfer record to land the Algerian. They had an earlier £25m bid rejected, but have now finally landed their man.

Slimani was a part of the Algerian squad that made the 2014 World Cup, where he found the net twice.

He also has Champions League experience, which should serve the Foxes well during their first ever foray into the competition.

He will join fellow Algerian Riyad Mahrez at Leicester.

Slimani’s arrival could spell the end at the King Power Stadium for Leonardo Ulloa, who has caught the eye of a number of clubs.

Slimani announced his arrival via Twitter: “To join a team like #lcfc is a huge honour.”
