The Belgium international had been on the radar of other top European sides, but Leicester have beaten the competition.
Dennis Praet has left Sampdoria to move to England in a €20 million deal, the Foxes have confirmed on their official website.
After arriving in the UK last night and successfully undergoing a medical, he penned a five-year contract at the King Power Stadium.
He has become the club’s fourth and final signing of the summer transfer window, after the purchases of defender James Justin, winger Ayoze Perez and former Praet teammate from Anderlecht days, midfielder Youri Tielemans.

The 25-year-old established himself as an impressive midfielder during his time in Italy and was said to be the subject of interest from many other clubs including Arsenal, Juventus and Valencia. Even though it had recently been reported that Praet signed a new contract that was supposed to keep him at the club until 2021, many Italian tabloids linked him with following former coach Marco Giampaolo to Milan. Eventually, none of it happened, as he has now opted for a Premier League switch.
Sampdoria boss Eusebio Di Francesco previously confirmed the Belgian’s exit. “I will miss him. He is one of the best midfielders in Italy”, he stated.
In 2016 he left Anderlecht to join the Blucerchiati and went on make 106 appearances in total, scoring four goals and providing six assists.
