Daley Blind has insisted that he can not wait to work under new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, despite speculation linking the Dutchman with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

United made their first signing of the summer in Eric Bailly, increasing the competition for places at the back, as Mourinho looks to get United back among the Premier League’s elite.

Blind, speaking in an interview whilst on international duty, says he is happy at the Red Devils, and is eager to get started again.

“I am looking forward to working with Mourinho,” he said. “We will have to wait and see whether anything changes for me.

“I will just give my all and work hard. Mourinho is a manager who has achieved a lot and I am keen to work with him.

“I’ve met Jose several times but don’t know him personally. For example, I played for Ajax against Real Madrid when he was the coach of Madrid, so I saw him then.

“I think he’s a coach who’s achieved a lot and I’m very excited to work with someone like him. I’m going do my best and work very hard.”

Blind also posted on Instagram a picture of him relaxing on a boat with the caption: “Great day on the boat yesterday, enjoying the last couple of days. My mind is rested and ready for next season.”
