Marcus Rashford heaps praise on Paul Pogba after United’s win over Leicester
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford sung praises of star midfielder Paul Pogba after Manchester United edged past Leicester City 1-0 at the King Power Stadium to go within two points of the top-four places.
The Frenchman’s pass set up the only goal of the game, which the striker finished, a combination that has worked wonders in the past few weeks under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It was Rashford’s 100th Premier League appearance and he marked it with a glorious goal after a lovely chipped ball from Pogba. United then held on to that lead to win their seventh game in eight in league terms under the caretaker boss.
Speaking to the media after the game, the striker said: “Time and time again, he provides opportunities for the team and that’s what we want from him. If we can get him free as much as we can, he’ll make these passes all day long. He’ll find you.
United are still unbeaten under Solskjaer in all competitions, which was under-threat in midweek when Burnley raced into a 2-0 lead, but the Red Devils clawed their way back in stoppage time.
Rashford spoke about the improvements they are making: “We’re looking at blocks of work and we keep trying to improve ourselves. The last result wasn’t what we wanted. We had to improve.
“[It was] a different type of game, it had different challenges but very difficult so to get the win is very good.”
Manchester United have their next game against Fulham way from home, before the first leg of the last-16 stage of the Champions League against Paris-Saint Germain.
