Super-agent stokes fires ahead of Manchester derby

Manchester United and Manchester City lock horns for the first time this season on Saturday, with both clubs having won their first three games.

It is the first time in English football that Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho will do battle, with plenty of room for hostility after their clashes whilst in charge of Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Mino Raiola, one of the world’s biggest names in football agents, with a clientele that includes Portuguese Mourinho, has launched a verbal tirade at City boss Guardiola, according to the Daily Mail.

Raiola, who only last week referred to Liverpool chief Jurgen Klopp as ‘a piece of s**t’, has turned his venom in the direction of Guardiola.

United trio Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba, all summer arrivals at Old Trafford, all have Raiola as their representative.

And it is Swede Ibrahimovic who is the reason for the frosty relationship between Guardiola and Raiola, from his time at Barcelona.

‘Guardiola? He doesn’t have the balls to sit down and talk to me and I don’t like that,’ Raiola said in an interview with Cadena Cope. ‘Everyone knows what happened with Zlatan.

‘It’s not that I hate him, but I don’t like him. He’s a good coach but his football bores me.’

Ibrahimovic is not exactly a fan of the Spaniard either: in his autobiography I Am Zlatan, he claimed Guardiola treated him like ‘a disturbance, an alien’ in his time at the Nou Camp.
