Thomas Tuchel- Who is the new England manager?

When Newcastle player Dan Burn revealed his England call-up news, Thomas Tuchel’s first action was to mockingly reprimand him for his “very unprofessional” actions, according to Burn. Burn was informed by the England manager via FaceTime at 10 p.m. on Thursday that he had been selected for his first-ever England team.

Along with Jordan Henderson and Jarell Quansah, Burn was one of several unexpected selections made to the team. Before he scored for Newcastle in last weekend’s Carabao Cup final, he was told wonderful news.

Tuchel called the 32-year-old late at night, but not long after answering, he had to apologize to the England manager. In the World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Latvia, Burn hopes to earn his first cap after scoring in Toon’s Carabao Cup victory on Sunday after a roundabout route that included Asda and non-league.

After initially shortlisting 55 players, Tuchel informed Burn last Tuesday that he may still be left off, leaving him to wait anxiously. “I’ve had worse weeks, I’d say,” Burn told reporters.

Dan Burn reveals cheeky reason Tuchel called him unprofessional

The manager FaceTimed us on Tuesday, he recalled, and said they were considering calling [me] up and would update us on Thursday. Then Thursday night came to six o’clock.

I told my wife that nothing was going to happen because I hadn’t heard anything. I received a text that said, “Are you still awake?” 10 a.m. I said, “Yes,” right right away. First of all, I apologized for not going to bed by ten o’clock, as he thought it was really unprofessional.

He simply stated that he wanted us to be in the squad and that he needed to end the day on a positive note. I informed him of my strengths.

Following Newcastle’s first domestic triumph in 70 years, Burn is coming off the best footballing week of his life. However, he has not yet had a genuine celebration because he immediately turned his attention to playing for England after leaving Wembley.
