Rennes star refutes reports

Paul-Georges Ntep has become the latest name to distance himself from talk of a move to Liverpool.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers was hoping to sign the Rennes ace this summer, according to L’Equipe.

However, Ntep has dismissed the French paper’s claims, which also mention that he has twice visited Liverpool’s Melwood training ground.

The French Under-21 star stated he was happy and settled at Rennes, in another blow for the Reds’ plans to bring in more attacking players.

Player Rubbishes Rumours

Ntep, who has 14 goals this season, told J+1: “I did not go to Liverpool last week, that’s completely false,”

“I have a contract until 2017.

“Stade Rennais gave me my first professional contract and, for now, I am very well here.”

Ntep joined Rennes from fellow Ligue 1 side Auxerre in January 2014, and is eligible to play for Cameroon or France at senior international level.
