Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has showered praises on his side after claiming an excellent 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Midland giants found themselves behind very early as Harry Kane’s brilliant curling effort saw the home side taking an early lead. Spurs dominated the first half and could have added a couple more to their tally.

Spurs looked to have gotten away with three valuable points at their makeshift home Wembley but a late surge from Wolves rewarded them for their valiant show.

Defender Willy Boly headed home the equaliser and two quickfire goals from Raul Jimenez and Helder Costa did the rest of the damage. The win lifted the visitors to the 7th place and they are now 11 points adrift of the top four.

Santo said, “We are happy, we are very, very happy.

“In the second half we were very good, but also in the first too, we were organised. Tottenham have a lot of qualities, talent. They have the mobility to cause us problems.

“We had to stay balanced because we knew the game could change, and it did in the second half in our favour. We began the second half in our favour, on the front foot, controlled the game, and created some chances. We could feel the momentum was coming.

“We had more of the ball in the second half, and when you have the ball you manage the situations better. We moved it well, the lines of the ball were good, and the hard work made the difference.”
