La Liga giants eyeing new goalkeeper

Real Madrid are still interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to reports.

The La Liga outfit have been in the market for a new ‘keeper since the summer, and after missing out on David De Gea on Transfer Deadline Day, they are now ready to renew their interest in a new number-one.

Madrid and Manchester United had a deal in place, but due to paperwork being handed over too late, the transfer collapsed and the Spaniard remained at Old Trafford.

Courtois Wanted

Despite still being interested in the United shot-stopper, Real Madrid officials are also keen on Courtois from Chelsea, and with the Blues set to miss out on the Champions League for next season, they are confident they can lure the Belgian back to Madrid.

Courtois spent three years with local-rivals Atletico Madrid and he’s admitted in the past that he’d like a return to the Spanish capital one day.

To add further fuel to the fire, the 23-year-old admitted earlier this week that he was unsure where his future lies, especially with his girlfriend being Spanish, so a move could be on the cards in the near-future.

Chelsea have valued Courtois at ÂŁ73million, and according to AS, that hasn’t put Madrid off signing him.
