Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou wants Tottenham Hotspur loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal
Ange Postecoglou restated his ambition to convert the loan movements of Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers and Benfica youngster Jota into permanent agreements before of the match against Dundee United.
This season, the defence pair has been a revelation for the Hoops. They have been crucial to Celtic’s success this season, as they sit atop the Scottish Premiership standings, finally looking like a club capable of retaking the top place from Rangers.
The Celtics have kept a tight ship this season, thanks in large part to the defensive skills of the Spurs and Benfica loanee. The team might be in line for a ÂŁ40 million windfall if they win the league title and qualify for the Champions League.
To say the least, the North Londoners’ season has been erratic. While there have been a few positives since Antonio Conte’s arrival, their lack of consistency in outcomes has left the crowd dissatisfied.
While his return might give depth to our central defence, the English centre-back has established himself at Parkhead and, at the age of 24, would love to play on a regular basis.
In such a case, letting him leave for a reasonable sum might not be a terrible idea. We need top-tier reinforcements to our starting XI right now, and Conte is only here until the summer of 2023.
