Wayne Rooney has won more trophies than Harry Kane.

The England record goalscorer would soon be dethroned by Harry Kane who is now just two goals behind the Manchester United legend.

Harry Kane will play a crucial role in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and could easily break Wazza’s record.

Former England and Man United defender Rio Ferdinand explains why Rooney ranks higher than Kane even if the latter breaks the England record goalscoring record.

“What he’s [Harry Kane] achieved, goals wise and has been ridiculous and he’ll probably break the record [Rooney’s all-time record as England’s top-scorer]. But maybe I’m a bit biased because he’s [Wayne Rooney] my generation.”

“And what I’ve seen [Wayne] Rooney do, he’s crazy. Crazy player.”

He continued: “Wazza [Wayne Rooney], he’s on the pedestal high, up in the clouds with the superstars for me. And Wazza won [trophies]. He won stuff as well. When you combine all that together, it puts him in a different place, I think to a Harry Kane.”

“I’m not devaluing what Harry Kane is as a player because as a footballer, he’s a ridiculous player. Great vision, little bit similar in ways to Wazza in that sense.”
