Sweden has added Andreas Georgson, a Tottenham assistant, to the coaching staff of former West Ham manager Graham Potter. On Monday morning, Potter signed a temporary deal to become the new head coach of the Swedish men’s national team.

This is his first position since Nuno Espirito Santo took over as manager in September after he was fired by West Ham after just eight months in charge. Swede Georgson, who joined Spurs in the summer as a set-piece specialist and assistant to incoming head coach Thomas Frank, was revealed by Potter during his welcoming press conference.

Additionally, he has previously served as a coach for teams like Manchester United, Brentford, Arsenal, and Southampton. In keeping with Spurs’ first-team coach Justin Cochrane, who is also a member of Thomas Tuchel’s England staff, Georgson will combine his club and international responsibilities and is not quitting the squad.

Former West Ham goalkeeping coach Linus Kandolin and current Brighton Under-18s manager Bjorn Hamberg, who will also continue in his club role, will join Potter, Potter also stated.

After the Englishman was named Sweden’s head coach, Georgson, who has held a variety of positions throughout his career, joined Graham Potter’s team. Georgson is by no means a set-piece coach.

Spurs supporters should not fear, though, as Georgson’s new position will not impact his Tottenham obligations. After taking Jon Dahl Tomasson’s place as the head coach of the Scandinavian nation, Potter is seen here declaring the addition of the Spurs coach to his staff.

Georgson’s dual duty with a club and a national team is not unique among Thomas Frank’s coaching staff. During the international break, Spurs assistant coach Justin Cochrane is away with the Three Lions team because he is also a member of Thomas Tuchel’s England side.

Since Georgson is only Spurs’ set-piece coach, his workload should be lighter than Cochrane’s; thus, his new position shouldn’t interfere with his job at Hotspur Way.
