Christophe Galtier took over the role as PSG manager yesterday.

Mauricio Pochettino was sacked on Tuesday morning and former Lille manager Christophe Galtier took over the role on a two-year contract.

The French giants will pay a fee of around €10 million to Nice for Galtier who had a fifth-place finish last season.

There have been rumours circling over Neymar’s future and whether he will continue at Parc des Princes in the 2022/23 season.

His world-record €222 million price-tag that PSG paid in 2017 have largely failed to live up.

He has been linked with a potential return to Camp Nou this summer whereas Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the Brazilian star.

New boss Galtier reiterates his desire to keep Neymar at the French capital beyond this summer.

“Neymar is a world-class player, what coach wouldn’t want him in his squad. We have to find a balance in the team,” the Frenchman said in his first press conference.

“I have a very clear idea of what I want from him. I haven’t met him yet but I want him to stay with us.”
