Bayern Munich announced the signing of Hansi Flick as permanent boss yesterday.

The interim manager who was to be kept in charge of the team has now been given a new permanent contract which runs till 2023. Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge could not sound happier about the deal

“The club are very happy with his work. The team has developed very well under him and are playing attractive football which is reflected in the results,” Rummenigge stated.

“We are the only German club who still have a chance at winning three competitions. I like the way he leads the team and he has great human qualities.

“The club trust him and we are convinced that he will help us achieve our goals for the future.”

Flick has done a decent job since taking over and expressed his gratitude and excitement.

“I look forward to tackling the upcoming tasks together with my coaching staff and the team,” Flick told Bayern’s website after the announcement.

“The conversations I’ve had with the board were very good and evidenced the mutual trust that exists between us.

“Together, we have defined the direction we want to take in the coming years and I’m sure that we can achieve a lot together.”
