The Bayern legend is backing the Barcelona outcast to get back to his best.
Bundesliga former veteran Ze Roberto has praised Bayern Munich for the loan acquisition of attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
With the Bayern Munich loan move, Philippe Coutinho has closed his inglorious his stage at Barcelona, which lasted only for one season. In spite of the disappointing performances showed by the Brazilian, the Bavarian club believes the player will not struggle in Germany, as they hope he rediscovers his form.
Now the Brazil international has been backed by fellow countryman Ze Roberto, who stressed that the 27-year-old is exactly what the doctor ordered for the Bavarians, who only reached the last 16 of the Champions League last term and are facing stiffer competition from a resurgent Borussia Dortmund on the domestic front.
“For me, Coutinho is a first-class player and Bayern have made a great signing” said the 45-year-old, who now works as a technical advisor to Brazilian champions Palmeiras. “He has to prove it by getting back to the level he showed in Liverpool and I think Bayern is a club with a perfect atmosphere for him to do that.

“His greatest strength is his ability to shake the lines of the opponents. With his dribbles, but also with his game intelligence, which means he knows how to use the other players in front of goals, he knows how to free them. But he has to score more goals.
“Bayern needed to rebuild their squad, and given that they want to go far in the Champions League this season, they had to bring in world-class players. Coutinho fits the bill perfectly.
“He will also help the club a lot in the battle for the Bundesliga, which should be fantastic this year because Dortmund are strong – they’ve brought in good reinforcements and have a team that will fight as hard as last year.”
Last season, Coutinho only managed to score 11 goals in all competitions for Barca. However, he impressed a lot during the title-winning Copa America campaign this summer.
