Arsenal goalkeeper backs Ranieri’s side for the title

AS Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, on loan from Arsenal, has admitted that he would like to see Leicester City win the Premier League.

It has been a fairytale season for the Foxes in which they have secured Champions League football for next season, dismissed their perception as relegation fodder and are three wins from securing the title.

Everyone football fan, apart from those supporting Tottenham and, potentially, Arsenal are hoping the Foxes can etch their names in Premier League history.

And that hasn’t stopped at fans and pundits, including players as well, with Szczesny telling Sky Sports in Italy: “No one in football can explain the Leicester miracle,

“Even though I support Arsenal in the Premier League, I’d like to see Ranieri’s side win it. They’re an example and an inspiration to everyone. It’s exciting to watch them play.”

Polish ‘keeper to join Roma?

Szczesny does not know where his future lies, with Petr Cech having cemented himself as Arsenal’s number one, having joined from Chelsea in the summer. However, the Gunners believe the 25-year-old has a long-term future at the club.

The Poland international is interested in making his switch to Italy permanent, however, he is unsure whether the Giallorossi and Arsenal will be able to agree on a deal.

“Everyone knows I’m really happy here,” Szczesny added. “I’d like to be able to tell you about my future, but I don’t know what it holds for me.”

“I’ve expressed my intentions to the two clubs and now it’s up to them. I have to decide what’s best for my career.”
