Ribery will become a new Fiorentina signing in the coming days.
Fiorentina are reportedly only missing Franck Ribery’s signature on a two-year contract.
The Italian side has been in advanced talks with Ribery‘s entourage for a while now over a free transfer. The Frenchman was a high-profile departure from Bayern at the end of last season, along with fellow wide-man Arjen Robben, who eventually decided to retire from football.
Whilst, Ribery has decided to continue his European career after agreeing a two-year deal with Fiorentina, that will see him earn €4 million per season, plus €500,000 bonuses, according to Sky Sport Italia‘s Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 36-year-old winger will arrive in Italy on Wednesday to undergo a medical, prior to signing his contract and finally, being announced as a Fiorentina player.
He previously insisted on being allowed to bring personal physiotherapist Giovanni Bianchi with him to the club, which seemed like a stumbling point in the negotiations, but eventually, he was given the all-clear.
According to the latest BILD report, Ribery’s family also proved crucial in the decision, which saw him pick a new experience in Florence and Serie A. The newspaper adds he rejected offers from Saudi Arabia and Russia, where he could have earned money. Al-Nasr had been prepared to give him a two-year contract worth €5 million per season.
