Four more days until the end of the January transfer window.

We have one of the major transfer bombs announced.

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Denmark international Christian Eriksen from Premier League outfit Tottenham.  The 27-year-old star did not extend his contract with the English club and now faces a fresh challenge in a different country to start a new chapter for his career.

The midfielder joins the Nerazzurri on a four-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him tied to the club until June 2024. No transfer fee has been revealed but according to Sky Italia, the Serie A side have paid Spurs a sum of €20 million. Eriksen has been linked with the major European clubs since his contract with Tottenham will end this summer.

“Christian Dannemann Eriksen is officially a new Inter player. The Danish player, born in 1992, joins the Nerazzurri on a permanent deal from Tottenham and has signed a contract lasting until 30 June 2024,” the Italian club said in a statement to announce their new transfer. “All Inter fans would like to take this opportunity to warmly and enthusiastically welcome him and wish him all the best in his adventures in the Nerazzurri shirt. #WelcomeChristian!”

Eriksen said he is glad to have a chance to play for Inter Milan in Serie A: “It’s now time to start a new challenge. Inter is a fantastic club. I couldn’t wait to join, it’s wonderful to be here and I’m happy to be a new Inter player. I’m very excited and can’t wait to introduce myself to the fans.” Considered one of the key players for the English side’s midfield position, the Danish star scored 69 goals and made 89 assists in 305 matches for Tottenham.
