Napoli eye Yannick Carrasco as replacement for departing Jose Callejon

The Belgian has been a long-time Arsenal target.

Now he is being linked to the Serie A side.

Napoli are reportedly looking to bring Dalian Yifang winger Yannick Carrasco to the San Paolo as an outright replacement for Jose Callejon. Calciomercato reports that the Partenopei are looking at the possibilities of bringing the 26-year-old back from China.

Carrasco scored 17 times and provided eight assists in the Chinese Super League this term and has appeared to be ready for a return to Europe. Cristiano Giuntoli was reportedly interested in the former Atletico Madrid winger and had allegedly tried to bring him to Naples before the player chose a move to Asia. Now, the outlet claims that Callejon could be the key in a proposed transfer between the clubs.

He would be the replacement for the exit-bound Napoli winger Jose Callejon. Callejon came to Napoli in the summer of 2013 and has played 325 games for the Azzurri, scoring 79 times in the process. Earlier this year, Carrasco seemingly thanked and greeted Dalian Yifang on social media ahead of a move back to Europe this winter.

“I would have liked to come back for personal reasons,” he told HLN in September. “It is not that I don’t like Chinese football, but I would like to return to my family and play in a big championship.”
