The legendary Zlatan Ibrahimović has decided to retire from professional football with immediate effect, following Milan’s win over Verona in his final league game.

Milan earned a 3-1 victory at San Siro to bid a final buy to their legend. Ibrahimovic was expected to bid farewell to the club. After the game announced that he is bringing his iconic career to an end, after having played for so many huge clubs across his career.

The 41-year-old entered the San Siro pitch and gave a speech to those at the stadium. He stated: “I have many memories and many emotions here, the first time I arrived here you gave me happiness. The second time, love. I want to thank everyone, especially the fans. I will be a Milan fan for life The time has come to say goodbye to football, but not to you. See you around, if you’re lucky. Forza Milan and goodbye.”

Zlatan had joined Milan after his stint in Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy had ended. He had joined the US outfit after his Manchester United stint had ended rather prematurely due to a knee injury.

His career has been outstanding. The legendary man played for the clubs like Man United, Barcelona, Milan, Inter, Juventus, and Ajax. He also helped Milan win the Scudetto last season but picked up a serious knee injury after that.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimović was planning to carry his career till Euro 2024 but he decided to retire earlier.
