PSG Plan Revenge Bid For Philippe Coutinho After Missing Out On De Jong

According to the latest reports, Paris Saint-Germain have made Philippe Coutinho their number one transfer target after losing Frenkie De Jong to Barcelona this week.

The French outfit are quite unhappy to have missed out on the Ajax midfielder and reports claim the PSG’s sporting director, Antero Henrique might lose his job over this. A revenge bid for Coutinho, who Barcelona acquired for a record sum last January from Liverpool is being lined by Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Neymar was notoriously signed away from the Catalan giants in the summer of 2017 which instigated a bit of friction between the two European heavyweights. Now, the Parisians are looking to retaliate with force.

Coutinho’s Barcelona career has not been smooth sailing thus far, with the Brazilian starting only 11 of the 20 La Liga fixtures played. He has struggled to adjust to the wing position along with playing next to a phenomenon such as Lionel Messi.

Talks of a Camp Nou exit have been circling the transfer thread for months now with the 26-year-old getting linked with Manchester United as well. Barcelona, Ernesto Valverde did come out to reveal that Coutinho is not going anywhere and he is still essential to the club’s future.

However, if the attacking midfielder continues to be left out of the Blaugrana’s regular rotation he might start to ponder over a move away from the side.
