The player is reportedly surplus to requirements at his club
Sevilla are chasing a loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Julian Draxler, Diario de Sevilla reports.
The Germany International joined the Ligue 1 champions from Wolfsburg for a reported fee of £34 million in January 2017, signing a 4 year contract. He established himself as one the best playmakers in the Bundesliga before leaving Germany.
But the 22 year old has struggled to establish himself as a regular for the club since joining them and mostly has come off the bench. He further fell down the pecking down with the arrivals of Neymar from Barcelona and Kylian Mbappe from Monaco.
The midfielder only managed to start 19 Ligue 1 games last season, scoring only 4 goals and and made total 30 league appearances. However, the French side completed domestic treble.
Despite few appearances throughout the last term, the player was selected in the Germany World Cup squad. He featured in two group games at Russia 2018 before shockingly knocked out in the group stage.
With Neymar returning to full fitness and Mbappe filled with confidence after winning the World cup with France last month, the German ace is reportedly surplus to the requirements of the club.
Thomas Tuchel doesn’t appear to see him as one of his main attacking options, and his wages, almost four million euros a year after tax, are seen as a further problem for them. His stock also has fallen down recently which is the reason that they could be interested in a loan deal than selling him permanently.
The Spanish side have also struggled in the scoring department last campaign as they averaged just 1.29 goals per game in La Liga last season. They are hoping that Draxler will add the necessary firepower in their line up.
