Chelsea have set their sights on signing Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez in January, which could see Diego Costa return to his old club.
Martinez moved to Spain from Porto for €35million in the summer but has struggled to find form in La Liga.
The Colombian has only scored three times in 16 appearances but Chelsea remain keen on signing the forward.

Martinez was impressive during Colombia’s World Cup campaign last year and now faces the possibility of pushing flop, Radamel Falcao down the pecking order for club and country.
Costa was the Blues’ top goal-scorer last season but has been disappointing this year where his attitude, and fallouts with former manager Jose Mourinho, have been his main highlights.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is the bookies’ favourite to be Chelsea’s manager next season and could be a contributing factor in a potential move for Martinez.
