James Rodriguez is reportedly on the shortlist for Atletico Madrid after a troubled career at Real Madrid.
The Columbian attacker was signed by the Galacticos back in 2014 after a dazzling display in the 2014 edition of the FIFA World Cup. However, given the competition at Real Madrid and the constant change of managers, James never quite settled at the club.
His stats do make good reading in general but Real Madrid could not get the best out of him on the pitch as much as they had hoped.
Things have come to an all-time worst now with James’ string of injuries piling up and preventing him from playing for Madrid at all since October 2019.
With James already lower in the pecking order under current boss Zinedine Zidane, it is now being reported that he is seeking out a move to join Real’s rivals Atletico Madrid.
GolTV has reported that James, who only has a year left on his contract at Real Madrid, is keen to stay at the Spanish capital. This would allow Atletico Madrid to pick up the 28-year-old South American star at a cheap rate and James would also be able to have the last laugh versus Madrid.
