The Spaniard is well aware of his Gunners teammate’s ability

Spain right-back Hector Bellerin has told his Spain teammates to fear Tomas Rosicky in the Czech Republic midfield when they meet on Monday.

The 21-year-old was a surprise selection for Vicente del Bosque’s final 23-man Spain squad, after Dani Carvajal didn’t recover in time from injury, and is now sounding out the biggest threat’s in tomorrow’s opponents.

Bellerin and Rosicky were teammates for Arsenal this season, as the Gunners finished second to Leicester City in the Premier League, but will now go head to head on the international stage.

“Tomas is one of the most intelligent players around, but because of his injuries people underestimate him.” said Bellerin.

“But his intelligence, his ability to find space and his crossing definitely make him one of the players we have to fear.

“Rosicky orchestrates the midfield and he’s a great player who’s quick on the ball and really clever, so we know we have to be very wary of him.”

However, Bellerin knows that while he will be hoping to silence the 35-year-old, Spain’s strikers will have to be on top form to beat another of his teammates, Petr Cech, in goal.

Cech won the Golden Glove in the Premier League this season, having kept 16 clean sheets, and Bellerin realises he will be a vital player for tomorrow’s opponents.

“Petr, for us at Arsenal, is one of the most immense pluses we could have had this season, and he’s got the Premier League record for clean sheets,” Bellerin added.

“He makes you feel safer with him behind you. He’ll be as important for the Czech Republic.

“Perhaps he’s the best goalie I’ve ever seen and he’s helped me grow in experience by chatting to me and sharing things in Spanish.”
