In 2013, Cavani left Napoli to join the French powerhouse.
Now, after six years, he is set to move again.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani reportedly has an agreement in place to join Atletico Madrid in 2020. According to Sky Italia‘s Gianluca Di Marzio, a personal agreement has already been reached between Atleti and the striker. Rumours of a possible move from the French champions have been on the cards for months, but may be imminent, given the Uruguayan forward’s frustration at being left on the bench.
The Uruguayan striker has reportedly penned a three year deal with Atleti and could even leave the Ligue 1 side during the winter market. However, the respective clubs now must work out a deal, as Atletico must sell before buying and may even be forced to wait until the summer, when the Uruguayan becomes a free agent.

A recent report in El Mundo Deportivo cited French claims that the player would command a €14 million transfer fee and is currently on €18 million in wages, making a January switch to Madrid almost impossible. Cavani, who missed the last three league games against AS Saint-Etienne, Le Mans and Amiens due to injury, is unlikely to return to play for PSG ever again.
Cavani’s contract in the French capital expires next summer and he has scored 195 goals across his spell in the capital of France, where he is now in his seventh season. The marksman has been with the Paris-based club since 2013 when he joined them from Napoli for a reported fee of €64 million.
