The Welshman has committed his long-term future to Los Blancos which will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu into his 30s

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has signed a new six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, which will keep him at the club just shy of his 33rd birthday.

There has been speculation in the past about a potential Premier League return for Bale, but having now fully settled and formed a formidable partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, Los Blancos have been keen to tie him down to a new deal.

It comes after months of speculation about a new long-term deal for the Wales star and Ronaldo, although the latter has yet to finalise a new deal – which speculation a delay has been caused over discussions of the contract length.

Bale is seen as the long-term replacement for Ronaldo, who has previously insisted he can play for another ten years. Although, it seems Real are not ready to commit to such a long-term contract.

Announcing Bale’s deal via their website, a short Real statement read: “Real Madrid C. F. and Gareth Bale have agreed an extension to the player’s contract, keeping him at the club until the 30th of June 2022.

“Tomorrow, Monday at 1:30pm, Gareth Bale will appear at a press conference in the media room at the Santiago BernabĂ©u.”

Real Madrid paid a then world record ÂŁ85 million fee to Tottenham for Bale in 2013, and has since helped the club to win two Champions League crowns.
