The departure of Andriy Lunin has left the young goalkeeper disappointed. He was out on loan last season and did not get enough game time.

This season, after returning to the Spanish capital, the player left the club. He has now admitted he is frustrated and had he known Navas would be leaving, he would contemplated staying at the club.

‘Nobody knew Keylor Navas would be leaving Real Madrid, I would have had the chance to stay if I had known,’ Lunin told The Football Hub.

‘Keylor’s attitude helped me being comfortable at the club. We often had lunch together and we always talked, which helped me a lot.

‘He always asked about my situation and I’m thankful for the help he gave me.

‘Valladolid have some high-quality players, training sessions are tough and very quick, but they’re good for my development.’

Madrid had a turbulent summer with Courtois and Navas both gunning for first team spot. Navas, the older and more experienced keeper and the winner of multiple Champions League trophies with Real Madrid finally got the boot and moved to PSG. Courtois moved to the first team position at Real Madrid and has been a failure so far.
