Since moving to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has made an effort to attract young players from all over the world, and Marc Guiu of Barcelona may be the next to join the west London team. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and his agency are having more discussions, and the Blues are optimistic about getting him to sign.

With a mere €6 million (£5 million) release clause, Guiu has also been connected to Bayern Munich and Sevilla. The AS, meanwhile, reported on Tuesday morning that the Blues were in advanced talks with the 18-year-old’s representatives. If the player moves to Stamford Bridge, they say he will be a member of the first-team squad next season and that he will not be loaned out to sister club Strasbourg, which is also owned by Todd Boehly.

Chelsea set to seal forward transfer after offering Guiu to triple his wages

Journalist Luis Rojo claims that Chelsea will activate Guiu’s release clause at Barcelona in order to finalize the transfer. The 18-year-old turned down the opportunity to remain at the Nou Camp when the Blues offered him the chance to triple his salary by moving to Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona is currently awaiting Guiu’s response regarding a potential deal at the Nou Camp. Nonetheless, there is reportedly confidence in the Chelsea camp over the completion of a transaction.
