A deal to recruit the young striker next year has already been connected to Manchester United. Kevin Filling, a striker at AIK Fotboll, has downplayed rumours that he would sign with Manchester United after being connected to an Old Trafford transfer. According to a recent source, United was in “concrete negotiations” to buy the 16-year-old for about €3 million (£2.6 million) early next year.
Manchester World, however, disclosed this week that this is untrue and that United’s interest is only being inflated as a negotiating ploy. Due to post-Brexit regulations, United would not be able to sign the adolescent forward until November 2026, when he becomes eighteen.
According to current laws, all transfers from European countries require a work visa, and Premier League and EFL teams cannot sign foreign players until they turn 18. According to recent speculations, Kevin Filling may join Manchester United in the upcoming season. Aston Villa has also reportedly expressed interest in the striker.
Manchester United transfer takes a shock twist
Despite the increasing chatter about his future, the adolescent striker maintains that his whole attention is on his present team, AIK. When Fotboll Direkt asked him about the rumours, he said, “It’s nothing special.”
I’m not very knowledgeable. My whole attention is concentrated on AIK. I’ll just carry on from there. He said, “No,” when asked if he was thinking about his future with the club. No, I’m not giving it any thought since I don’t know anything.
Filling has scored three goals in ten games for the AIK first team this season, so it wouldn’t be shocking if the connections with United led to a better deal or sparked interest in his possible move from other teams.
Before thinking about moving elsewhere, he is clear that his short-term goal is only to grow even more at his current club. “To start for the team and give every game and opportunity my best effort.” He said, “I want to keep going and make more points.”
