Monaco defender deals blow to Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs by beginning talks with Spanish Champions

Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour has dealt a blow to Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs by opening talks with Barcelona over a possible £11.5million move.

The defender, who had an impressive season in Ligue 1, has apparently been offered to the Spanish and European Champions for that price.

French newspaper L’Equipe claim Abdennour’s agent Abdelkader Jilan flew to the Spanish city to discuss a possible move to the Catalan giants despite their current transfer embargo.

Splashing The Cash

Barcelona have already signed Arda Turan this summer and the report claims they are prepared to buy the Tunisia international and will allow him to stay at Monaco until January 2016 when the ban ends.

Earlier this month, Abdennour had been linked with Atletico Madrid after manager Diego Simeone identified him as a replacement for Miranda who has joined Inter Milan.

AC Milan dropped out of the race due to Serie A rules which restricts the number of non EU players teams can have in their squad to just four
