Dean Smith reveals that Tammy Abraham is enjoying life at Aston Villa

Tammy Abraham was once again on song as the 21-year-old Chelsea loanee hit a brace in Aston Villa’s 2-2 draw against QPR on New Year’s Day. Abraham has been in fine form in the Championship this season, scoring 16 goals from 20 appearances, causing many Chelsea fans to believe that the Blues should exercise their recall clause in the loan agreement.

The Englishman enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Bristol City a couple of seasons back where he scored 23 goals before having a mediocre stint at Swansea City last season which limited his goal tally to five.

And Villa manager Dean Smith has revealed that the 21-year-old is enjoying his life at his current club and has shown no inclination of returning to Chelsea.

“Tammy has shown no inclination to go back to Chelsea,” Smith said. “In the conversations I’ve had with him, he is enjoying himself at Villa and is developing as a player.

“He is very happy and you can see the connection he has with the supporters, the players and staff. We are very happy with the way Tammy is developing as a player and as a person.

“Chelsea seem very happy, as he is developing as a player and scoring goals in the Championship. For all three parties, it is a win-win.

“So I would be amazed if anything happened to prevent him playing for Villa.

“But it is not in my control. If Chelsea decide to recall him, it is up to them.”
