Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan’s on loan striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine forward was a mainstay at Juventus after his record move from Napoli but the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo this season saw Higuain lose his place to CR7 and the former Napoli forward was shipped out to AC Milan.

However, Higuain’s Milan career is yet to take shape with the striker failing to repeat his previous form. He has however, scored 7 goals in 17 games. It is now being reported that Chelsea are interested in securing the services of Higuain on loan until the end of the season. The Blues hierarchy are reportedly in talks with both parent club Juventus and loan club AC Milan to sanction a move.

Higuain’s remaining loan fees to be paid to Juventus would be in the region of £8million and Chelsea are hoping to reunite Sarri with his former player. Chelsea’s striker Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have both failed to fire this season leaving the Blues out of the title race and a possible mid-season meltdown and hence the Blues are in desperate need of a new striker to lead the line.
