Chelsea to play Game of Stones once again?

Chelsea are set to make a fresh bid for Everton’s England defender John Stones when the January transfer window opens, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League champions had three bids for Stones turned down back in August, including one of ÂŁ30m, but that has not stopped Blues manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has been far from impressed with his defence this season, especially after seven defeats from twelve Premier League games so far.

One particular sticking point has been the progress of Papy Djilobodji, who has only made one appearance for the club. Rumours claim that Mourinho did not even want to sign him, and that it was a decision from higher in the Stamford Bridge hierarchy.

Stones handed in a transfer request in the summer, which was turned down by the Toffees.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez was upset by Chelsea constantly trying to unsettle his player, and the repeated bids.

And he is sure to be annoyed if they renew their interest in Stones.
