Phil Foden has said that he does not want David Silva to leave Manchester City.

Silva leaving will essentially see the youngster get a lot more chances in the team. However, Foden is disappointed that his team-mate will be leaving, saying: “It’s going to be a shame. I’m not thinking about that too much because I don’t want it to happen. He’s here now so let’s try and be happy. He’s still a great player, you could see on Wednesday how sharp he is even at the age he is. He’s still a special player.”

Soeaking of his critical goal against Tottenham last season, he said: “It was massive for me. It was such a big game, we needed the win and I came in and gave everything I got. I’m just happy it went so well and happy to help the team.”

Silva has served Manchester City for a decade now and is one of the stalwarts. He has won almost every trophy with the team barring the Champions League and Pep Guardiola and his men will hoping to win it this time as an ideal parting gift to the Spanish maestro.
