Jose Mourinho has taken aim at Chelsea’s board over their lack of summer spending.

The Blues have only made four signings so far this season – Asmir Begovic who cost ÂŁ8million, Kenedy who cost ÂŁ6.5million, Baba Rahman who cost ÂŁ18m and Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan deal.

Mourinho’s men lie in 13th spot after a dreadful start to their title defence, while title rivals Manchester City have spent a whopping ÂŁ152m on Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Otamendi, Fabian Delph, Patrick Roberts and Kevin de Bruyne.

“City reacted to the fact they had lost the title,” Mourinho said as quoted by The Sun.

“They reacted buying fantastic players. They are buying more until the end of the market.

“This is their job and if they have that possibility and the economic potential to do that, good. They did well. It is no problem.”
