Reds keeping tabs on Inter defender

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia.

The Reds join an ever-growing list of Premier League clubs interested in the centre-back, a list that already includes Everton, Tottenham and Southampton.

The 27-year-old is looking set to leave Inter after falling down the pecking order at the San Siro, having played just 70 minutes of Serie A action so far this term and, with manager Roberto Mancini hoping to make a clutch of new signings when the window opens, the centre-back could be one of the first out of the door.

And according to reports Liverpool are pretty eager to sign him, but will face competition from the clubs previously mentioned.

Southampton almost landed him during the summer but he decided instead to stay put in Italy. However, after playing so few minutes this season, he is reportedly ready to reconsider his future.

And that could be good news for new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who will want to make his mark on the squad during the January transfer window.
