The Toffees made a bid of £19m for the midfielder

Man United have rejected a £19m bid from Everton for Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

The midfielder is not a huge part of the plans at Old Trafford and boss Jose Mourinho is willing to let him leave the club this month.

There are a number of teams interested in signing the 27-year old and Everton are the latest to make a bid for his services. The Toffees made a £19m bid to try and lure him to Goodison Park but the Red Devils have turned it down.

United – despite not needing the player – are holding firm and want at least £24m for the former Southampton man.

This is because Jose Mourinho wants to recoup all of the money that they initially paid for the Frenchman when he made his move to Old Trafford.

West Brom linked with move

West Brom are another interested party and they have already been linked with a bigger move for Schneiderlin, with recent reports are claiming that the Baggies are willing to bid up to £30m for the midfielder.

It means that Everton will have to up their offer if they want to have any hope of signing the 27-year old. Boss Ronald Koeman is a huge admirer of the midfielder and would love to link-up with him again.

Koeman was the man who originally signed Schneiderlin for Southampton and he would love a reunion at Goodison Park.

But, to get him, they’ll need to launch another move for the player which is higher than this initial bid of £19m.
