Manchester City has identified its next transfer target for the summer.
The Citizens have had a relatively quiet summer window so far. They wrapped up the signings of Nathan Ake and Ferran Torres for a combined fee of €65 million and sold Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich for a reported fee of €50 million with add-ons.
Pep wants more addition to his centre back positions despite having Laporte, Stones, Otamendi, Ake and Eric Garcia and he seems to have made Sevilla defender Jules Kounde his top transfer target.
The former Bordeaux man arrived to La Liga last summer for €25 million. He was instrumental in Sevilla winning the Europa League by dispatching the likes of Manchester United and Wolves and City wants to bring him in now.
They have reportedly had an offer of €60m plus Nicolas Otamendi turned down and now are preparing to launch their second bid for €70m.
The 21 year old centre back is one of the best young defenders in the game right now and having him in the team will definitely boost City’s chances of regaining the Premier League title.
It now remains to be seen when and how the deal goes down.
