United identify 4 players needed to challenge for title

Manchester United have identified 4 transfer targets that they believe will guide them to a Premier League title challenge next season

United spent over ÂŁ150million on transfers this time last season, after a terrible 2013/14 campaign under David Moyes, however many of the signings have failed to have the desired effect at the club.

United boss Louis van Gaal this summer has already signed Memphis Depay from PSV, but feels his work isn’t yet completed. The Dutchman wants to build a strong squad at Old Trafford once again, and is apparently ready to splash the cash to sign world-class proven talent.

The Fantastic Four

It’s thought that Van Gaal wants a player in every position from goalkeeper right up to striker.

With current goalkeeper David De Gea looking likely to leave this summer, United are apparently looking at Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris to replace him, but Ajax shot-stopper Jasper Cillessen is also seen as a possible target.

In defence, United are thought to be interested in Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos; it’s even been suggested that the defender could be involved in a swap deal for De Gea.

Moving onto midfield, United have been linked with Bayern Munich veteran Bastian Schweinsteiger, as he looks to add both experience and class to the midfield at the club.

Up front, possible targets have included Tottenham’s Harry Kane, but United will save their best efforts to try and sign Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, who has also been linked to Arsenal.
