Chelsea boss to face no action in Facebook claims
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will face no action over claims he verbally abused former club doctor Eva Carneiro.
Carneiro came under fire from Mourinho after entering the field to attend to Eden Hazard on the first day of the season as Chelsea drew 2-2 at home to Swansea.
Mourinho was fuming as it meant that Hazard had to leave the field of play for the final moments of the match, which was worse for Chelsea as they were already down to 10 men due to goalkeeper Eden Hazard being sent off.
He branded her naive and insinuated that she, and physio Jon Fearn, didn’t understand the game.
Video footage then emerged of Mourinho’s reaction towards Carneiro and a formal complaint was made from a member of the public.
The complaint, which was invesitageted by the FA, claimed the Chelsea boss called Carneiro ‘filha da puta’ which means ‘daughter of a whore’ in Portuguese.
If he had been found guilty there would have been a minimum five-match ban.
But today it was confirmed the Portuguese boss would face no action.
“Following information brought to the attention of the FA regarding Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and alleged discriminatory comments made in the Premier League fixture between Swansea and Chelsea on 8 August, The FA has now concluded an investigation into the matter,” a statement read.
