Idrissa Gueye is not going away from Everton any time soon according to his club boss Marco Silva.

“This is news to me. No club has made an official offer,” Silva said as he faced the media ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round. “I speak with him like I do the others but he focused towards working his best for our club. Until now, what I can tell you, is no offers have been coming and I have nothing more to say about that. Illegal or not, to be honest, I don’t know.”

The Everton boss also said that he is standing by his keeper Pickford. “Now everyone looks to him in a different way,” added Silva. “He achieved some fantastic things at the end of last season and had a fantastic World Cup also. He has started well this season but as a goalkeeper, when something happens the [focus] is on you. We have confidence in him and this is normal pressure for a goalkeeper at our club. We gave him time to rest his mind and he arrived in fantastic condition for a good season,” he said. “He is working very hard and trying to get better every day.”
