Conte is hoping to make Arturo Vidal his first summer signing at Chelsea if he takes over at the Bridge.
It is thought that Conte’s agreement to take over at Chelsea will be announced later this month, with the gaffer set to sign a three-year deal worth £18million.
It’s thought Conte will be willing to splash out £30m on Vidal to try and strength the middle of the park.
The pair have history as the 46-year-old signed Vidal for Juventus in 2011 where they worked together for three years.
Had the chance
Manchester United gave the midfielder the chance to move to the Premier League last summer, but he turned them down to join Bayern Munich.
